2019 ACDA MC

Not a bad start right? This Saturday I got the opportunity to emcee for the 2019 ACDA Dance Festival. Having participated in the dance festival for 6 years, it's an honor getting to return to the stage as one of the emcees. This year in addition to returning to the stage, I got to cheer my mom from the sidelines as she performed in the show. It was her second year performing and she was graceful and beautiful as always.

My cohost for the night, Joe, was hilariously entertaining! We had such a blast meeting up to go over notes and practice. We even came up with a code word where, if either one of us forgot our lines, we'd say, "Wow that's a lot of people" and the other person would step in to help. 🤣 Luckily it wasn't needed, but we sure had fun joking about it.

Joe even surprised the audience with some dance moves to get them laughing. (Take a peak below)

The show was a success and the night was filled with laughter backstage. I get to be a proud daughter and say my mom was amaaaazing! For me, this was another accomplishment to add to the list. With each new event I get to emcee for, I do feel more and more confident on stage. I don't think the butterflies will ever go away, but that's ok. There's a certain rush of excitement that comes with stepping into the light ad the curtains rise up. From the awkward shy teen with the big dreams to successfully MC'ing for another show, I'd say 14 year old me would be pretty proud~
